Ahoi Alex - Everything you need to know.

Ahoi Traveler

I'm Alex and I share my knowledge and experiences here in my photo travel magazine. You could say that I'm a bit of a globetrotter, as I've never stayed in one place for very long (so far). Here you can read my little profile.

Der Beweis, dass Alex auch Katzen mag.

I was born in the beautiful Thuringian town of Rudolstadt until I moved to Emsland. From there, I sailed the seven seas of the North Sea and Baltic Sea with the German Navy until I ended up in Cologne. After 8 years in the Rhineland, I returned to the Baltic Sea to Zingst. After turning the tourist information office there upside down, I have now moved to Leipzig. So traveling has always had a professional aspect for me.

What can I read here?

My main topic is Photography. And my goal is for YOU to take better photos. Why? Photography has given me so much, I just have to give something back. Besides, the internet is already full enough of bad photos, at least our pictures can be better than the rest, right?

And yes, it's not always about reflecting reality in pictures, but the feeling you had on location.

How else can I help you?

In Zingst, in addition to the tourist information office, I also spent some time sprucing up the photo service and advising many customers on camera equipment. With the photo school next door and my involvement in the Photofestival Horizonte ZingstI was able to pick up a few tricks of the trade at a few workshops and seminars.

I want to share my knowledge with you. Therefore there are now new Workshops or my Skype SessionsHave a look here, what else i can offer to you.

What countries and places did I have visited?

My absolute favorite country so far is Portugal. Whether the Acores or the Algarve, the landscape and the friendly people there are simply amazing. Other places I've traveled include Turkey, Djibouti, Poland, Paris, the High Tatra in Slovakia, Malta, Croatia and Morocco .

You will find my travel stories here.

#Vanlife

After getting to know this vanlife with Adrian on our road trip through the alps I also wanted to have a bus. In February 2020, I finally fulfilled this big dream and converted a VW T4 bus myself.

The big boy was lovingly named Buzzz .

Catlove

I have to admit, I've always been a dog person. Cats were simply suspicious and often mean to me. During the pandemic, however, I felt a deep longing for a pet. It was difficult to get a dog, so I decided to get a gray cat.

We ended up with 2 little ginger cats and I couldn't be happier. Yuri & Lutz are the two sweetest but also probably the most greedy cats I could have found. They are currently getting used to van life.

These are the other things you should know about me

  • Vegan
  • Brooklyn Nets Fan
  • Favorite number 52
  • Thirsty for knowledge
  • bad at parking (of small cars)

And now let's get out into nature and take some photos! Always remember, a good photo has to hurt ;).
